Aventa Credit Union is a member-owned not-for-profit financial institution. Established in 1957, Aventa was charted as Colorado Springs Public Utilities Credit Union to serve the employees of Colorado Springs Utilities. Further growth took place through the 1980s as we began serving all Colorado Springs city employees and additional select employee groups (SEGs) to include Sinton Dairy, City of Fountain Employees, City of Manitou Springs Employees, Memorial Health System, Metro Bus System and many others. During this growth, we changed our name to reflect our changes in field of membership to Colorado Springs Employees Credit Union and then to Colorado Springs Credit Union.
In 2010, the merger with Pueblo City Employees Credit Union took place, providing us the opporutunity to serve those in the Pueblo region. We changed our name from Colorado Springs Credit Union to Aventa Credit Union to reflect our geographic expansion. In 2012, we acquired Saguache County Credit Union and began serving anyone who lives, works, goes to school or worships in Saguache County. We continued to evolve to serve our membership better by joining CO-OP shared branching through the CU Service Network(CUSN) and introducing Mobile Branch #9, a fully customized trailer housing a mobile teller station and ATM unit which can be taken on the road.
In 2017, Aventa expanded its field of membership to now serve the counties of Alamosa, Chaffee, Custer, El Paso, Fremont, Huerfano, Pueblo, Saguache and Teller. Anyone who lives, works, worships or goes to school in these counties may join.
As of March 2019, Aventa currently serves over 26,000 members with the majority in Colorado Springs, Pueblo and the San Luis Valley. Aventa's member demographics range from local government employees, educators, and city retirees to small business owners and agricultural workers.
